JOINING HESPERIA
AND THE INTERNATIONAL FRATERNITY

PETITIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP

Men wishing to petition the lodge and the international brotherhood of Freemasonry for consideration for admission may complete the proper application and join us for dinner in order to find three Master Masons willing to sign your petition. Some may already know a Mason and may request a petition through them. Petition forms may also be acquired on line at:

www.ilmason.org/forms/Petition%20letter%20size.pdf

The following prerequisites apply:

  1. You must be at least 18 years of age.
  2. You must believe in the existence of God.
  3. You must be uninfluenced by mercenary or other unworthy motives.
  4. You must be uninfluenced by improper solicitation.
  5. You must freely and voluntarily offer yourself as a candidate for the mysteries and privileges of Freemasonry.
  6. You must sincerely wish to be of service to your fellow creatures.
  7. You must be in possession of sufficient means to meet the charges of your admission and the support of your membership in the craft without detriment to your family.
  8. You must cheerfully conform to the ancient usages and established customs of the fraternity

As our brother lodge, King Oscar No. 855 notes: Our ceremonies involve no hazing, horseplay or physical mistreatment of any kind. Candidates find the initiation ritual a solemn, beautiful and moving experience. Every word is spoken from memory, as has been our practice from Masonry's earliest days. The ritual itself has remained virtually unchanged for nearly three centuries. And finally, every man in the lodge is a friend - and will be a brother.
